Cocos island, off the coast of Costa Rica, is a real life treasure island. Centuries of records from the golden age of piracy indicate that the remote island was a hotspot for pirates to stash their treasure hoards. Centuries later, people are still spending their lives trying to find it.

The background music (noise really) is super annoying
Beautiful German historian— we needed more attention from her. 😜
Ha! U didn't say American, referring to a person from United States at that time. America was still a super continent at that time, where South America was the first continent to be named just America.
So. If he knows the Treasure is a half a mile inland, Why is he shown digging up the beach?
Quite a fellow.
he put those gold coins there to keep the investors interested
Yellow beard got all the treasure. Stagger, stagger, stumble, fall.
You have the wrong Treasure Island, it's in Mahom Bay in Canada.
the craziest part is he left his wife alone in the Island and came back after six months. really she was an iron lady
It meaning the treasure 📦 was buried in the street ..I read stories about people would burie, thier money in horse corrals, hoof tracks 👣 cover up,and manure pile, in a street wagon tracks ,next to a tree 🌳 ,or a latreen. Rather than in house or business. Where they can look out a window. Or in this case maybe nothing there in 1700s and road put in later.no one knew.or maybe 🤔 one of those lost British payroll chest .right in a bay area of lake Champlain and the river just 100 feet away.we also were making a river crossing. A 90 degree turn.into the river crossing. In the heart of Plattsburgh newyork.😢adults not listening to kids now I'm an adult. I will listen to kids, now days thier even smarter. Computer 🖥 wizs.
When I was a young kid working in Plattsburgh new york on a trunk 8:45 sewer project ,I was a Mason working on building sewer manholes ,I was walking up out of a manhole on the top of trench, the men were putting in a deep trunk sewer ,the big track hoe a 666 koering, this was up threw the middle of the street, the trackhoe came out of the trench with a bucket of dirt on the left side of the bucket.a chest about 2 feet by 2 feet, was balanced on the edge with coins coming out of 📦 I waved my hands ✋️ to stop but no avail,I'm a kid and operator threw it into a dump truck.wouldn't let me look .I still think of it to this day,I was buried in the street for safe keeping, owner maybe killed ,I'd say 1700 period, right by lake champlian.or could have been one of the lost British payroll 📦. Never know 🤔 tough being a kid and adults not listening 😢 to what you have to say and tell???it's in a dump some place or land fill
That was in 1970.true story.
So living on that Island was what people of the series Alone would love to be in,…..Lots of Rats to Eat.
It's hard to say how many times Pirates burried treasure there,… but nobody found it.
But the British Pirate tried to find it.
I love treasure
Pirates never buried treasure, it's a myth, they lived a short but merry life…….the spent what money they looted very quickly. There a case where one Pirate spent 30 pieces of 8 (a small fortune) in a brothel just to see one of the whores naked. The got it then spent it!!
I’m heading to Cocos next week with my metal detector. Wish me luck!
This video is an absolute treasure hunt of excitement! The idea of a mysterious island filled with hidden pirate loot is so captivating—makes you wonder what secrets history still has to offer. Do you think there could really be undiscovered treasures out there, or is it all just legend? Thanks for taking us on this thrilling adventure!
Thanks for the video.
Island Isobela was written in a Letter by William Kidd and Henry Morgan, He fondly sent clues to Families in letters , In one Letter it states i have left all my Worldly possessions deep in the heart of my love Isabela with one L not two , That letter was from William Kidd to his Brothers, And Henry Morgan Mortally Wounded told his father That Isobela watches over a Great Wealth of riches for him, I believe your all looking at the wrong Island, 900 miles south west is Isla Isobela . With a well sheltered Cove and is isolated with no one living on it, There are Rock faces with sailors Graffiti on them that proves they were there. Pieces of eights have been found in and around the Islands coves and caves, Just saying .
Could that the british that dinamited in the island found the treasure?
I'm sorry this seems like a bit of fiction poorly done. 11 minutes 40 seconds and he goes to a bar and meets a man named bartell who tells him a story 🤔🤔 PS I was waiting for kistler met a man named Heine. 😂😂😂😂
The greatest treasure in the world is your life
Answer is simple wrong island
How did he read the diary if it was written in Portuguese?
Extraordinarily dumb. 😅😅😅
if you want to tell make-believe stories please dont dress them up as true stories. people are to silly in this modern age n cant see through this crap.
just playing on your mind😂
If you look on google maps, there is a suspicious mudslide or washout exactly where the x is on the pirate map even though its a national park.
The treasure is actually on the adjacent island called Margarita, which has a "death face" formed by several caves at sea level.
Anyone here watching this movie from Brazil in 2025??? Like it
Total nonsense for so many reasons. 1. Pirates did not bury treasure. The booty was divided up and spent. 2. The Captian was not in charge of the dividing up of treasure. That was the Quatermaster. ALL men got equal share as a rule and as there were no banks they needed their money now to use to live. 3. No crew of a ship will let 2 men take all their money and hide it and not tell anyone where it was. They may get killing in the next battle or raid so they needed their share now. 4. In all of history there is only 1 pirate known to have buried a small amount of oot. Capt Kidd buried a stash as his crew were on the verge of mutiny and the authorities were after him for being accused of piracy when he was in fact still a privateer. Many of his crew has turned pirate and hence the fear of mutiny. Other than Kidd there is no other pirate that ever buried treasure. . The small stash from Kidd was dug up back in his day as he said where it was. he then made a story up for a larger treasure in the hope of avoiding getting hanged. Other than thay 1 small stash there is no other that buried it as all needed it to live.
TLDR: bloke searches an island for 16yrs for pirate treasure and scams settlers to join. Finds nothing
When I was younger I always wanted to be a pirate
In the scene of Gissler on beach we see flintlock pistols and a Henry or Winchester rifle, wow what continuity production issues!
The Maroon Ben Gunn dug up the treasure years ago, and hid it in a cave.
Has anybody ever walked around this place with a metal detector
